Our soon to be Mr. March was actually discovered by our own photographer. The, now, deemed awesome, Blond Shirtless Male Model, Don Handfield, was literally discovered bagging books at one of the local college bookstores! Our photographer was merely in the check out line, when he spotted a model in the making. When the College Men team eventually sat down & met with Don, there was no question -- This male model was at the very top of the final twelve! Who could resist those piercing, Paul Newman, blue eyes & that smoldering stare? He floored use all! In interviewing Don & discovering his goals, we quickly knew he came to the table with a plan.
He knew this was a stepping stone towards his career. Most people think Midwest corn-fed-boys are not intellectuals & have no ambition except to milk the cows & mind the pigs. We admire Don, as this model knew exactly what he wanted & set the wheels into motion to obtain it. At school, Don was the perfect academic -- studying journalism, acting & theatre. He'd appeared in several shorts & feature Independent films. Don, upon our intro, was a diamond in the rough, but once polished is the man he is today. We are grateful to our photographer for shopping on campus that day! Thanks for the gem!
Model hair days...
and split-ends! Hair all depends on the model of the day! The cut depends on the models facial structure, texture of hair & what is required for the photo session. Our Blond Shirtless Male Model was extra sensitive to touch & to chemicals. We pulled in our Producer -- John Gilbert Rollason, who is thoroughly versed in every aspect of the fashion industry -- hair, makeup, wardrobe styling, etc. He met with Don again & came up with the current look of our model. Can we say, To die for?
The calendar photo...
Our location scout had walked many the pavement in countless back streets of Miami's South Beach to find interesting backdrops for our shoots. This is clear in model Don Handfield's back cover layout. Although, with all the planning, you never know when the right, random, photograph will pop up! We'd all walked South Beach's Ocean Drive many times. Something happened that day, walking back to the Kent Hotel. On Ocean Drive, we stopped with our model for a break at one of the countless cafes that line the beach. Our photographer seized the moment & caught our Blond Shirtless Male Model at the perfect moment! The chosen photo is subtle, but clearly dripping with sex appeal!
