Patrick, our soon-to-be Mr. September was spotted by one of our talent scouts, while going to class on the OSU campus. At first, Pat was a little cautious, but our calendar is pretty well known throughout Ohio. Our recruiter reported back to the College Men offices to fill us in. This particular recruiter has always been a goldmine! So, we listen when she talks! She's always had an uncanny good eye and can see past their current wardrobe attire to what the potential model can be!
In retrospect, perhaps we should have hired her as a fashion-consultant to the woman we hired as wardrobe stylist on this particular South Beach Calendar. Just a thought! But one tip she gave us at College Men -- her quote, I see a College Guy in Fishnet Muscle Shirt. Our model came into the office & was signed. Little did we know our gem of a recruiter's vision was about to unfold.
Transformation of student to Model...
Our model was shy & reserved, at first! We don't think he felt he fit-in, in the beginning. Modeling was foreign to him, but the College Men staff knew our model only needed a bit of prepping to shine. Yes, a bit of extra work, but a great pay-off for both! Our future College Guy in Fishnet Muscle Shirt, comes from a very small, blue-collar, town in Ohio. OSU, & Columbus, had to seem like the big time to him! In conversations with our Producer of the Calendar, John Gilbert Rollason, we learned there were a couple anti-gay remarks. We decided to work with it, if it ever came up again. We wanted Patrick in the calendar, but not at the risk of offending any audience. Please note: our company does not discriminate against anyone!
College guy in Fishnet Muscle Shirt...
Things fell into place for this photo shoot. Patrick, our male model for September, looked awesome in the clothing provided by, TOMMY at The Beach, South Beach, Miami, Florida! The irony ... our Wardrobe Stylist took full advantage of the stores clothing and cast our College guy in Fishnet Muscle Shirt! Our model was comfortable in front of the camera, even with a crowd of on-lookers in downtown, Miami. Our model over came his fears of being labeled and surpassed all recommendation! Welcome, Mr. September!
