What can one say or can't say about our Mr. July, Jody Antognoli? Our soon to be College Male Model walked into our office, unannounced, around noon, in Columbus, Ohio. We had to wait for a few more staff members & our photographer to return from lunch, but we knew Jody would be signed on the spot. At 6' tall, Jody's persona made him appear much taller. At a mere 19 years of age, our soon-to-be model had a world of experience already. Widely traveled, well read and a talented artist -- he goes after & gets what he wants. We were lucky he wanted to be a model that afternoon. He waited patiently, closing his eyes & listening to Tangerine Dreams with his headset & disc player, until all the staff was back from lunch. It didn't take long until we signed another College Male Model.
Crushes at College Men...
We at College Men hate to pick favorites, but if we did, this College Male Model would be top of the list. It wasn't his handsome face, tussled dark hair or his long, finely, sculpted body, but an inner light that came through in his presence. It clearly demanded attention upon entering any room. Safe to say, many of the staff of College Men may have had a slight crush on our Mr. July.
The shirt off your back...
Our location shots with our male model, Jody, always flowed with ease. He took direction well and never gave the wardrobe stylist a hard time on any outfit. He even took a dare from the calendar's producer, John Gilbert Rollason, while at the clothing store TOMMY at the Beach. The dare was to try on a pair of fur trimmed hot pants! Mr. Rollason snapped a quick photo to prove it. The photo is posted inside the calendar in an ad for TOMMY at the Beach, South Beach, Miami, Florida. It shows our models playful personality. A lot went on the day of the featured photograph.
Our photographer wanted a different look for a few of the models. A group shot was scheduled at a near by location, a few streets inland from South Beach. But, what to wear? To our advantage, our producer, Mr. Rollason, had flown down to Miami with a fairly extensive wardrobe. He opened his doors to the models & a sixty's inspired ensemble prevailed. We're sure Mr. Rollason got all his clothing returned, although some of the models were seen clubbing in them a night or two. In this location shoot, the group model shots didn't seem to work for us, but Jody stood out. Our model slide the flower power shirt off his left shoulder, exposing his awesome latts & shoulder span. We knew we had the perfect shot with our College Male Model.
